California Green Chemistry targets clothing

SACRAMENTO – California’s Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has recently named Clothing as a ‘product category of interest’ as well as potential candidate chemicals in clothing products in the California Green Chemistry Draft Priority Work Plan. Over the next three years the DTSC will investigate seven product categories in a bid to identify and name specific chemical combinations for consideration as ‘priority products’ as it looks to reduce public and environmental exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals.
