DHAKA – H&M head Karl-Johan Persson has called for wages in Bangladesh's textile industry to be linked with local price inflation during a visit to meet Bangladesh Minister of Commerce Tofail Ahmed. Bangladesh is a key supplier market for H&M, from which it sources products from around 300 factories employing over 600,000 workers.
Persson used the meeting to present H&M's request for systems that regulate costs and prices in Bangladesh and also highlighted the need for continued wage development through annual revisions.
