BRUSSELS – The prospect of a wool sustainability award, discussions around animal welfare and REACH legislation were some of the issues on the agenda at the International Wool Textile Organisation’s roundtable which took place in Belgium this week and was attended by 90 stakeholders. While the main discussions centered around how to shape and strengthen international policy for a more sustainable wool industry, it was a lack of understanding – on many levels – which was perhaps the biggest take-away from the two-day event.
