SEVELEN – Levi Strauss has selected a fluorocarbon-free durable water repellent (DWR) coating from Schoeller Technologies for its latest ‘Commuter’ collection of functional urban denim. The move comes as Levi’s move away from fluorocarbon finishes in order to avoid environmental problems associated with some fluorocarbon related by-products such as the chemicals PFOA and PFOS.
