Record exhibitor numbers at Taiwan show

Written by John Mowbray
TITAS 2014

TAIPEI – The Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) has announced that this year's Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS) was the largest ever, with a total of 367 exhibitors, coming from 11 countries and regions including Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, United States, the Netherlands, Singapore, Switzerland, Sweden, Vietnam, China and Hong Kong. The event, which was staged at the Taipei World Trade Centre Nangang Exhibition Hall, illustrated how Taiwan is now considered to be the world's foremost sourcing destination for functional and technical textiles. Sustainability in textiles is also an area in which Taiwanese companies such as Formosa Plastic, Far Eastern New Century and Eclat Textile are increasingly placing great emphasis.

In addition to major players in Taiwan's textile industry, members from 18 textile and apparel related organisations representing the entire textile production supply chain were also represented at the event.
