STOCKHOLM – Swedish home-wear textiles company IKEA has announced that the amount of sustainably sourced cotton used in its products has increased by four per cent in the past 12 months to 76 per cent. While the company is committed to sourcing 100 per cent of its cotton sustainably by 2016, its latest sustainability report says the deficit will be made up by August, by which time all of its cotton will be sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) and other identity cotton standards.
