BRUSSELS – The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is encouraging businesses which use potentially hazardous chemicals in their products towards a new online resource which directs users towards relevant information and tools on chemical substitution and alternatives assessment. The Substitution and Alternatives Assessment Toolbox (SAAT) has been launched by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and provides a range of resources relevant to chemical substitution and alternatives assessments which could – potentially – help apparel brands and retailers negotiate the minefield of chemical hazard assessment.
