MUMBAI - Aditya Birla, the world's largest producer of Viscose, has announced it will no longer source from the world's ancient and endangered forests. The Indian headquartered company manufactures 20 per cent of world supply of the material material, which is made from wood pulp. Viscose fibres, are widely used in clothing and textiles, and the commitment applies to wood and pulp sourcing for all of Aditya Birla's mills, including those in Canada, Indonesia and China. Aditya Birla worked with Canadian NGO Canopy to develop its policy.
