BRUSSELS - A European project which shares information on products that pose a consumer risk found that ten per cent of 149 textile products tested in 2014 were found to be unsafe either because they were non-compliant with REACH restrictions for chromium VI, or because they contained carcinogenic azodyes or phthalates. The project highlighted the example of a doll imported from China which contained the plasticiser DEHP in a concentration of 38.5 per cent by weight.
