A&E releases sustainability report

NORTH CAROLINA - Leading US textile business American & Efird - (A&E) has released its latest sustainability report, highlighting significant progress in the areas of water use, energy management and waste management and reduction. The company, a leading manufacturer of industrial sewing thread, embroidery thread, and technical textiles, says it last year produced 1.1 million kilograms of thread using recycled water from the industry's first zero liquid discharge system in the Perundurai, India dyehouse. The company is also using the Higg Index of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition to help benchmark its environmental performance.
