Scottish Minister talks up value of wool

Written by Tone Tobiasson

EDINBURGH - The Scottish Smallholder & Grower Festival has a new partner: Zero Waste Scotland. Celebrating this event led to an official welcome by the Scottish Minister for the Environment and Climate Change, Dr Aileen McCloud. "We need to strengthen the local value chain for wool," was one of her key messages as she spoke engagingly about the circular economy and the Love Your Clothes campaign. Describing how she had been contacted by someone keen to learn where she had bought a dress, Dr McCloud told the audience of designers, producers, carers of rare breeds and visiting Norwegian delegation that she often wore old and dear clothes in public.
