LONDON - WRAP has updated progress made by clothing retailers signed up to the Sustainable Clothing Action Plan's (SCAP) sector commitment. In two years, brands have reduced water impacts by 12.5 per cent per tonne of clothing and made a 3.5 per cent carbon impact reduction per tonne of clothing, both against a 15 per cent target. Clothing brand George (at Asda) has also signed up to the SCAP commitment this week, meaning signatories now represent more than 50 per cent of the UK retail market by sales, volume and value.
