MILAN – Europlasma has developed a new range of low-pressure plasma-applied finishes for durable water and oil repellant high-end functional textiles. Although the new range of DWR finishes are based on fluorochemisty, the company says because the coatings are applied as a plasma – instead of padding – no traces of hazardous PFOA and PFOS by-products are found on the finished textiles. The Belgium-based company offers both static garment chambers and roll-to-roll plasma coating machines.
