Intertek launches chemical screening service

HONG KONG – Inspection and testing organisation, Intertek has launched a new service designed to help clients detect the presence of restricted substances in chemicals and auxiliaries used in the textile, apparel and footwear manufacturing process.Clients supply Intertek with a single sample which is then used to screen for around common harmful substances based on major chemical regulations including Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), and US state chemical regulations such as California's Proposition 65 and CPSIA, as well as chemicals that are often included on companies' own restricted substances lists (RSL).
