WICHITA – Researchers at Lycra maker Invista and its partner LanzaTech claim to have developed a new direct, two-step process for the production of bio-derived precursor chemicals that could be used in the production of nylon 6,6 textile yarns. Although the technology is several years away from commercial development, this new breakthrough is aid to offer cost-effective ‘new pathways’ for bio-based and bio-derived chemical production.
