DUBLIN - Immenstadt MDC Sportswear has withdrawn from the German Partnership for Sustainable Textiles following the recent admission of Irish-based fast fashion brand Primark, with Immenstadt chief executive Michael Pfister suggesting the acceptance of Primark, "with its throw-away fashion is doing the opposite of what we stand for [and] makes it impossible for us to belong to the alliance any longer." Primark recently became the first major fast fashion retailer to join the partnership, whose 181 members include adidas, Esprit, C&A, Puma and Tchibo.
