COPENHAGEN – Only a handful of tickets are left for next week’s Planet Textiles 2016 event on sustainability in Copenhagen, with the event expected to sell out the 400 person capacity within the next few days.

To reserve your place now, please register to buy your ticket HERE.

The event, which is co-organised by MCL News & Media, The Sustainable Apparel Coalition and Messe Frankfurt takes place at the Copenhagen Concert Hall on 11th May and features speakers such as Rick Ridgeway, environmentalist and vice-President, environmental affairs, Patagonia; Cyrus Wadia, VP Sustainability & Innovation at Nike; Derek Vollmer, research scientist at US not-for-profit Conservation International; Javier Goyeneche, president and founder of Spanish apparel brand Ecoalf; Brad Vorhees, VF Corporation; Nicole Ryecroft, Executive Director of Canopy; and Cecilia Brannsten, sustainability project manager H&M.

Adam Werbach, co-founder of Yerdle, the new US web-based service for exchanging used consumer goods, which currently has over 900,000 members will also present at the event. Yerdle’s mission is to reduce the number of new things we all have to buy by 25 per cent.”

Werbach is set to deliver the presentation: “The Re-Use Revolution: Lessons for the apparel industry from the sharing economy.”  He is a lifelong ecological activist and was elected national president of the Sierra Club at age 23, cutting his teeth in the campaign to pass the legislation to create Death Valley and Joshua Tree National Park in California. Amidst controversy, Werbach helped Walmart implement its sustainability strategy and went on to help dozens of companies form their own sustainability efforts.

We have now developed the Planet Textiles visitor pack which is also available to download from HERE for registered attendees.

Other recent additions to the final line up include Swiss textile manufacturer Remei AG, which runs the bioRe organic cotton projects in Tanzania and India and the CanopyStyle Initiative featuring H&M and Birla.

The event is being organised by MCL News & Media, The Sustainable Apparel Coalition and Messe Frankfurt and is generously sponsored by Leadership partner, Oeko-Tex.

Event supporters include: Covestro, Historic Futures, TIPA Corp., Novozymes, Australian Cotton, Workplace Options, Remei AG, cr360, C.L.A.S.S., European Clothing Action Plan and Honduras 2020.

Note: While we take every care to ensure that all our named speakers will take part in Planet Textiles, sometimes last minute changes in circumstances can lead to a change of speaker that is beyond our control.
