SEATTLE - Textile technology start-up Evrnu and US denim brand Levi Strauss claim to have created the world's first pair of jeans made from regenerated post-consumer cotton waste. Evrnu's patent-pending recycling technology uses a chemical and mechanical interface in a process which sees discarded garment waste purified and converted into a pulp using a proprietary purification and solvent technology. The end result, the company claims, will be a "new generic fibre classification."
