BREMEN - A new identity cotton traceability system which aims to accurately and cost effectively identify and measure the origin of cotton contained in garments could be in place by the end of the year. The work is being led by ICA Bremen, the German-based research centre, which says it has successfully proved its tracing concept in laboratory trials and is now proceeding to full field trials. A launch in late 2016 is dependent on funding and partners.
