Unifi to make Repreve yarns in Sri Lanka

Written by John Mowbray

GREENSBORO – Unifi, Inc. has signed up to a new manufacturing agreement in Sri Lanka as it looks to expand the availability of its ‘Repreve’ branded recycled polyester yarns beyond the US brand and retail markets and into Europe and India. The company has told Ecotextile News that it will also start to produce its other value-added polyester products Sorbtek and Augusta in Sri Lanka as demand grows through the new Unifi Textiles Colombo Private Limited division. The move follows on from recently announced Unifi distribution deals in Turkey and Taiwan.
