AMSTERDAM - Research among workers in 12 factories across six European countries manufacturing textiles for western brands found that the gap between an estimated living wage and the legal minimum wage is higher – sometimes considerably so – than the equivalent gap in China. The research was carried out across European shoe manufacturing factories in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
