LONDON – A coalition of ethical fashion producers and retailers has called on the UK government to maintain tariff free access for African goods after Brexit to strengthen the African garment and textiles industry, which – they claim - has the potential to become a major ethical source for the UK market. Speaking at an event at the House of Lords organised by Proudly Made in Africa and Soul of Africa, they presented a business case for trading sustainably and ethically in Africa, "allowing individuals and communities to trade their way out of poverty, while also improving performance in product supply chains."
