LONDON - A new report claims the long-term revenues of global apparel businesses are in jeopardy because they are not adequately managing and mitigating the risk associated with the sourcing of the key commodities most responsible for deforestation – timber products, palm oil, soy and cattle products. In the case of timber products, given the global expansion of plantations for the production of pulp for fabrics, the report ranked brands and retailers such as Burberry Group, H&M, Inditex, Kering, Marks & Spencer, Nike, and Tesco after asking them about their respective sourcing strategies.
