We are now in 2017 and should be nearing the end of the five-year jurisdiction of the Bangladesh Accord post Rana Plaza. This however, is no longer the case. An extension of three years now means that the responsibility for the welfare of employees in Bangladesh garment factories will not be handed over until 2021.
