BEIJING – A study published in the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management suggests that increased temperatures and rising sea levels will damage textile manufacturing. Researchers say the temperature changes will leave coastal factories underwater and workers overheated.

According to the study, which tracked temperatures from 1998 to 2007, one extra day of temperatures above 90 Fahrenheit costs Chinese textile plants US$10,000 each.
