NEW YORK – Eileen Fisher and non-profit organisation Nest have joined forces to champion and recognise the work of many women in developing nations who conduct home-based work to create artisanal garments for a wide variety of fashion brands.
According to the newly founded partnership, “home-based labourers are among the lowest paid members of the world’s workforce.” It is estimated that globally, around 300 million garment workers conduct their work from home – many of whom are women paid significantly less than their factory counterparts.
