Pakistan puts pests aside with cotton ban

LAHORE – The Punjab Agriculture Department, on the advice of scientists and departmental researchers, has enacted a province-wide ban on the cultivation of cotton before the beginning of April.

The decision is said to have been taken as the threat from pink bollworm looms large over cotton crops sown early in the season.
