VICTORIA – The commercialisation of a non-surgical cryogenic breeching procedure, in addition to New Zealand’s imminent ban on the practice, could see Australasia’s two largest nations move away from the much-maligned practice of mulesing.

The industry has long called for new technological and animal husbandry techniques, which have advanced significantly through the years, to be adopted as a more humane and cost-effective alternative; a step forward which farmers in both Australia and New Zealand may now have to implement.
