LONDON – Fashion Revolution has published the Fashion Transparency Index Brazil, a new report which seeks to analyse the levels of disclosure exhibited by twenty major fashion brands and retailers regarding their social and environmental policies, practices and impact.

Of the 20 major Brazilian brands and retailers surveyed, eight scored zero per cent for overall transparency according to the report’s criteria; a statistic which Fashion Revolution is keen to stress doesn’t translate to bad practices, just that at the time of the research no information had been disclosed regarding their respective social and environmental stances.

As the report was released, Orsola de Castro, co-founder of Fashion Revolution, stated: "We want a clear, uninterrupted vision from origin to disposal to foster dignity, empowerment and justice for the people who make our clothes and to protect the environment we all share."
