LONDON — PEFC’s Forests for Fashion event has seen industry representatives from the likes of Lenzing and Textile Exchange, alongside organisations such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), come together to discuss the future of wood-based textile fibres and the latest innovations in best available production technology.
The event was established to drive brands and retailers to “establish a more sustainable business models, helping reduce their environmental impacts,” given that PEFC estimates seven per cent of the world’s textiles are produced from wood-based cellulosic fibres.
