AMSTERDAM — The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) has launched the Policy Hub for Circular Economy in an effort unite industry leaders behind policies that promote circular practices in the apparel, footwear and textile sectors.
Circularity has, in the words of the SAC, become a “key concern of businesses in the apparel sector,” but taking action to change this is proving difficult as “current policies in Europe do not provide enabling conditions.” This, it hopes, can be remedied by the Hub.
The SAC will take the lead in operations at the newly-formed Policy Hub, but will collaborate with organisations including Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) and the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry to seek the broadest possible engagement.
