BERGAMO – Italian textile machine supplier SEI says it’s wrapped up sustainability and ‘industry 4.0’ in one single technology with the release of its automated ‘Matrix’ which designs, marks, engraves and cuts fabric rolls with lasers.

Shown at the recent ITMA, processing rolls of denim fabric, the company says the new machine has both significant speed to market and environmental benefits.

“The ideas here are flexibility, time saving and real sustainability, which means we can by-pass the laundry stage,” Andrea Monti, told Ecotextile News on his booth at the Barcelona event in Hall 3. “We are talking for real. We all know the average length of time of any garment making is between 15 – 30 days between manufacturing of the garment and washing. Our idea is to make the garment in one single day.”
