WAREGEM – US recycling innovator PurFi has embarked on a joint venture with Belgian manufacturer Concordia Textiles, through which the latter can introduce a circular business model by leveraging PurFi’s waste upcycling solution, said to yield ‘high quality’ regenerated fibre from surplus stock.

The recycling technology, which has been commercially applied by Nike, M&S and Walmart, amongst others to date, utilises product-specific data to monitor its incomings and outgoings, as well as the credentials of each bale before a patented solution separates and recycles textile fibres.

Concordia will now adopt the intuitive solution at its headquarters in Waregem, as the firm’s CEO says the use of recycled materials is now a ‘must have’.
