SAN FRANCISCO – US clothing retailer Banana Republic is set to launch ‘Style Passport’, an online women’s apparel subscription service, which gives customers the option to rent three different branded items for a monthly fee of US$85.
Launching across the US at the end of September, the service is set to include free priority shipping and laundering services with unlimited exchanges and returns. Men’s apparel is set to be added at a later date.
It’s an interesting move from a brand that is noted for its basic styles and comes after other fashion retailers such as Urban Outfitters and J.C. Penney launched similar programmes earlier this year.
