GENEVA – The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) has reflected on its first half of the year, in which it welcomed 200 new members, including 34 retailers and 162 suppliers and manufacturers.
Increasing interest in sustainably sourced cotton is good news for the initiative, with a demand-driven funding model that uses member costs to invest in training for a growing number of licenced farmers globally.
The initiative says uptake to date this year has already surpassed the quantities recorded in 2018.
