LUDHIANA - Indian textile and paper manufacturer Trident Ltd has been awarded a patent for a new process to treat industrial effluents discharged from the textile dyeing process.

The company, the world's largest manufacturer of terry towelling, and also of wheat straw-based paper, says its process treats effluents containing chemicals including sodium sulphate.

Trident Ltd's shares rose by six per cent on the back of the announcement of the patent - which covers physical apparatus as well as a treatment method - being awarded by the Indian Patent Office.
