UTRECHT – The Changing Markets campaign group has today published a new report in which it ranks industry leading brands based on their commitments and actions to responsibly source viscose.

The latest in the Dirty Fashion series, the Dutch organisation’s Disrupted report breaks down the efforts of 91 leading fashion companies – including those of 39 firms not in focus in previous reports – to spotlight the work of those progressing, whilst flagging up those that can still be accused of burying their heads in the sand.

At the start of last year, Changing Markets launched its Roadmap towards responsible viscose and modal fibre manufacturing as it looked to align brands and manufacturers under guiding principles for cleaner manufacturing.

This year, New Look along with supermarket chain Morrisons signed up to the Roadmap, joining the likes of C&A, H&M, Inditex and five others, dubbed ‘frontrunners’. On the contrary, more than a quarter (26) of the sample were deemed to be in the 'red zone', with the likes of luxury firms Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and Versace amongst the least committed.
