BRUSSELS – The European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) has proposed a collaboration with the textiles industry to align stakeholders and improve both traceability and transparency.
A six-month long pilot test will convene participating companies spanning the value chain, from suppliers to brands and retailers, as it vies to establish one standardised set of criteria for chemicals within textiles.
The project is linked to the European Commission’s communication: ‘Options to address the interface between chemical, product and waste legislation’.
