WASHINGTON DC - Fashion brands Ralph Lauren, Puma, Allbirds and Aritzia are among eight new companies who have signed the Arctic Corporate Shipping Pledge not to ship their goods through the Arctic Ocean.

The Arctic Corporate Shipping Pledge was launched by the Ocean Conservancy non-profit and sportswear brand Nike in October 2019 to protect the Arctic which is warming two to three times faster than other parts of the planet.

The brands were joined by logistics giant Kuehne + Nagel, International Direct Packaging, Hudson Shipping Lines and Bureo in signing the pledge. Previous signatories include Nike, Asos, Bestseller, Columbia Sportswear, Gap Inc, H&M, Kering and PVH Corp.
