NEW YORK – Kingpins Transformers has launched a non-governmental organisation (NGO) called Transformers Foundation, through which it will work closely with brands, retailers, consumers and students to influence environmentally sustainable action within the denim textiles and fashion industries.

Harnessing its voice within the denim manufacturing sector, Kingpins Transformers – which has held numerous trade shows both in Hong Kong, Amsterdam and New York – will first enlist supply chain leaders, of which five are confirmed, to join as founding members of the new Foundation, and will create a roadmap for activities in both the years 2020 and 2021.

“Kingpins has been producing Transformer events for years and we found much to our surprise that Transformers is much more of a movement than a speaking event,” Olah told Ecotextile News.

“It took a long time for all of us to realise that we, the supply chain, have to bond together because our voices and data are transformative and we can make change, demand change and create impact. I think in five years we will have played a significant role on many environmental issues,” he added.
