SAN FRANCISCO - Fashion start-up Denim Unspun, which uses 3D scanning and robotics to create personalised jeans with scarcely any waste, has been named on Time magazine’s list of 100 Best Inventions of 2019.
The size-less brand says its 3D weaving machine technology guarantees a perfect fit for any size, and means that off-cut textile waste is virtually a thing of the past.
Denim Unspun uses a 3D body scanner to generate virtual customer avatars using 100,000 data points. Customers then select their desired fabric, all of which are made from organic and recycled cotton and recycled plastics, colour and style.
