UTENA - Lithuanian garment manufacturer Utenos Trikotažas has become the first producer in the world to comply with Greenpeace’s tough new environmental standards for textiles.
The company, part of the SBA Group, claims to be the first - and so far the only - textile company to have produced garments at scale according to Greenpeace's textiles procurement standard.
Greenpeace has already started to source its own t-shirts at Utenos Trikotažas under the new standard which embodies existing best practices in terms of zero use of toxic chemicals, fairness and transparency.source
