SAN FRANCISCO – US apparel brand Everlane says it will enhance the environmental credibility of its supply chain by fully transitioning to certified organic cotton by 2023.

The Californian brand, which prides itself on transparency yet as previously reported by Ecotextile News, has itself faced allegations of greenwashing its performance on inadequate pay and attempts to quash workers access to union advice, says it will now increase use of cotton grown and milled in the Madhaya Pradesh region of India, where farms have successfully transitioned to organic by removing all pesticides from the production process. Cotton from the region is certified by GOTS (Global Organic textile Standard).
