TORONTO – PETA has written to Dani Reiss, the CEO of Canada Goose, accusing the brand of attempting to mislead consumers with new animal welfare strategies in its supply chains.

In the company’s first-ever sustainability report, Canada Goose has outlined its intention to stop sourcing coyote fur by 2022, and says from then it will only utilise fur that “already exists” on the marketplace or within its own facilities.

PETA – which recently submitted a shareholder proposal to the brand to undergo a ‘vegan transformation – says these efforts are disingenuous and enables Canada Goose to continue the cruel treatment of these animals within its supply chains for a further two years.
