DAKHA - Garment factory owners in Bangladesh have reportedly agreed not to sack any workers before the next Eid-ul-Fitr holiday which falls this year on 23rd May.

The decision comes as factories - and their workers - continue to struggle to survive the coronavirus pandemic which has seen western brands and retailers cancel and delay more than US$3 billion in orders.

It was confirmed at a meeting in the presence of State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian, according to ministry officials.
