TIRUPUR – The decision in India to enable garment manufacturers to export non-surgical masks around the world has been heralded by native stakeholders, which project revenues to grow by as much as US$1 billion over the next few years as face masks become a new norm in society.
The Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA) says it’s actively pressured textile and commerce ministries over recent months to allow mask exports and believes the decision will provide vital reinforcement to the country’s economy at a time of uncertainty.
