VANCOUVER – Environmental NGO CanopyStyle has published the results of Chinese man-made cellulosic fibre manufacturer Jilin Chemical Fiber’s first CanopyStyle audit, lauding the Asian firm’s efforts to mitigate the use of materials from ancient and endangered forests.

“Canopy is impressed with the action taken by Jilin Chemical Fiber to mitigate risk in its supply chain,” said its executive director, Nicole Rycroft. “We are also very pleased to see the company’s research and investment in low impact alternative fibres, which take pressure off the world’s forests. We hope to see this scale-up in the near future.”
