TOKYO – Teijin Frontier, the group’s fibres and products converting arm, has launched the latest iteration of its Solotex conjugated performance fibre, which is produced by pairing a partly plant-derived polytrimethylene terephthalate polymer with chemically recycled PET plastic.

Tipped to feature in autumn/winter fashion collections later this year, Teijin says the ‘sustainable’ fibre alternative has potential within the sports and athleisure markets, as well as for uniforms, and has projected sales to grow from US$4.6m to US$13.9m by 2022.
