BERLIN – The Partnership for Sustainable Textiles has launched a joint initiative to promote sustainable wastewater management in textile supply chains, focusing on Taiwan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, China, Pakistan and Turkey.
Partnership Initiative Wastewater brings together 13 fashion companies, associations and government bodies including Bluesign Technologies, Oeko-Tex and the ZDHC Foundation.
The two year project aims to improve wastewater management in textile production firstly by raising awareness and building knowledge of the dangers of some of the chemicals used in the wet processes of textile production – bleaching, dyeing and printing.
