SAN FRANCISCO – More than 110 small and medium-sized fashion brands have taken the  2020 Circular Fashion Pledge – an independent initiative that was first launched back in April 2020 as part of Fashion Revolution Week.

The pledge asks brands to commit to at least one of three goals by the end of 2020 – enable take-back or resale, increase recycled content, or design for durability. These goals are inline with those outlined within UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12, which is to substantially reduce waste generation by 2030.

"Amid the turmoil of the last few months — from global pandemic to racial reckoning — more and more fashion brands are eager to let the world know that the long and slower-burning crisis of creating a liveable, resilient, sustainable planet is still top of mind," said a statement.
